I love this drink. It's pleasantly sweet and sour, with a strong yeasty flavor and a creamy texture. I'm especially pleased to find something that has the low ABV of beer, but isn't beer. This is the only makgeolli brand I've tried, so I don't know how it compares to others.

I ordered a few bottles of the Makku Original bottles (not cans). The taste was very smooth compared to other larger, more generic brands. I really enjoyed it and look forward to trying it some more in the future.

Creamy and sweet… but not TOO sweet! Which is the ultimate Asian aspiration for amount of sweetness IMO. This makes it the perfect sipping beverage or base for a creamy cocktail. I personally love the original that has that slight effervescence and classic flavor. A crowd pleaser for young Korean Am crews and non-Koreans alike :) I love introducing my non-Korean friends to this bev.
